The Nest Theatre is a dedicated brick and mortar space in Cbus (Columbus, OH), founded in 2016 and resourced many years before. Housing 3 stages, (75, 40, and 20 seats), a dedicated classroom for 20, and a podcasting studio, this place has become a beloved theatre and community for those doing improvisation of all kinds (longform, shortform, musical, genre, midform) as well as sketchwriting, scripts, and standup comedy. Founded by Tara DeFrancisco & Rance Rizzutto (iO Chicago, HERE: The (Improvised) Musical, SC, CSz - performers, teachers, curriculum designers) for the Cbus community; This brave space is home to 45 rotational teams and shows, a training center with 4 main levels and dozens of electives, produces and funds over 300 shows a year, and is home to 300+ performers and 1800 students of all interests past and present. Fun, friendly, professional yet indie/punk, this place is one of the first comedy spaces world wide to have a Code of Ethics and paperless scholarships to affirm and support artists that make hilarious work.
