Block of Ice

Version 1 (von improwiki, 09.04.2026 12:52)

A gentle warm-up exercise for the beginning of a rehearsal.

Players stand completely stiff and motionless, as if frozen inside a block of ice. But slowly the sun comes out and melts the ice from top to bottom.

First the hair is exposed — players can wiggle their scalp slightly. The ice melts further: eyebrows and ears can move. Then the eyes, the nose, the mouth. Gradually the neck, shoulders, arms, hands, torso, hips, legs, and finally the feet are freed.

By the end, everyone is moving freely and loosely — fully thawed and warmed up.
