SNAZZ 'N' GUFFAW

Innovative professional improv troupe in New Haven, CT in the mid-1980s. Affiliated with independent professional theatre, Performance Studio, which used improvisation to create feminist theatre and interactive immersive cabarets including the CAFE DECLASSE, featuring French-flavored song and dance, and Prom Night '63 and Prom Night '64, with hit songs from the 60s sung with a live band and election of a prom queen from the audience. SNAZZ 'N' GUFFAW performed on Thursdays and late nights after other Performance Studio productions. They built a large following and played to sold-out houses every week. An experimental version of the show called SNAZZ 'N' JAZZ featured jazz musicians who collaborated with the troupe.
