Breathing Exercise

A sustained tone is sung. The throat is opened as wide as possible, as if yawning, without opening the mouth too wide.

The lower jaw moves just enough to allow the sound to resonate. Feel the vibration in the chest and head.

Variant: Sing a tone while slowly raising and lowering the pitch. The group tries to stay in unison.

This exercise prepares the voice for singing and projection.
